Calculation of Proton Passage through a Highly Filled Polyimide Composite

The passage of protons in a polymer composite is studied by the calculation method. Composites based on polyimide and tungsten oxide are investigated. Data their basic physical mechanical properties presented, depending filler content: density, ultimate tensile strength, water absorption, dielectric constant, linear thermal expansion coefficient. introduction proposed filler, oxide, leads to improved characteristics final composites. ionization losses under consideration calculated for various contents wide energy range from 0.5 5 MeV. found play decisive role estimating average free path protons. In composites consideration, small over entire range. This indicates possibility using protect against proton radiation outer space.
